Profile of the companion synod relationship - 6B North/West Lower Michigan Synod / Honduras /
Our Role in Global Mission

The relationship has added depth of relationships. Honduras and NWLM have learned from each other by working together, and helped members of both bodies better understand God's world/work.

Component(s) of our relationship

Salud Para La Vida
This project trains and supports indigenous volunteer women as health assistants who provide basic health care, preventative health education and spiritual care to those in need in Honduran communities.

Clean Water
This is a developing project. Financial gifts from N/WLM have begun to purchase water filters for families in one Honduran community, supported by the structure of Salud Para La Vida.

2010 Youth Delegation
In June 2010 five youth and three adults visited the ICLH with the primary purpose of establishing youth-youth relationships. N/WLM youth worked with Honduran youth in service projects, worship and fellowship.

PrayForHonduras@gmail.com
In November 2009 the N/WLM sent 166 prayers (via email) to the ICLH for their national assembly. This "PrayForHonduras@gmail.com" will be used again for future prayer needs.

Scholarships
One congregation in N/WLM provided scholarship and family living expenses funds for a Honduran seminary student.
