Profile of the companion synod relationship - 7F Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod / Tanzania / North Eastern Diocese (NED)
| Our Role in Global Mission |
| Through the strength of Christ, we work with our colleagues in Tanzania to promote our partnership, celebrate strengths, advocate for needs in Tanzania, and provide information about the ELCT for interested parties in our area.
| Component(s) of our relationship |
Missionary Support We work to support our missionaries in the Northeastern Diocese both emotionally and financially, serving as a voice for them in the U.S. while they are serving in Tanzania.
Prayer Our partnership centers around prayerful support for one another through both difficult and celebratory events.
Partnership Visits We encourage and have facilitated visits of companions parishes and congregations. Because we are working in partnership, we have helped plan a trip of Tanzanian representatives to the U.S. as well as delegations to Tanzania.
Congregation-Parish Partnerships Our Tanzanian partners have indicated that this is their top priority. Accordingly, we actively work to connect congregations who can share Christ's bounty with one another.
Education The team has worked to support SEKUCo, a new university in Tanzania that is growing exponentially. Also, our team supports the goals of the Mwangaza partnership, which helps provide skills and resources to Tanzanian teachers.
