| Established in 2003, our Companion Synod covenant strives for participation in each other's life and mission through communication, learning, and prayer. |

Prayer
Prayer at synod/national worship services for our companion synod and its mission and ministry, and encouragement of congregations and individuals to include such prayers regularly in their worship life.
Learning
Our commitment to learning occurs through presentations in various contexts, information through web-based technology and written materials, and personal conversations.
Delegations
Journeys to Colombia have included: 2005 Synod delegation; 2009 Youth from Ascension Lutheran, Edmonton; 2010 IELCO Consultation; 2011 Youth and Adults from Ascension Lutheran, Edmonton.
Bishop's Visits
In 2003 Bishop Parada visited our Synod and Bishop Kristenson visited Colombia in 2005. Bishop Mayan has invited Bishop Martinez to visit our Synod in 2012 and participate in the Synod Assembly and a speaking tour throughout the Synod.
Congregation to Congregation

Disaster Relief
Through its parnership with Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC) has requested funds for disaster relief in Colombia following the devastation caused by unusual amounts of rains.
Project Support
Currently our Synod supports the CELCO school in Sogamoso through gifts to the Synod or through the "Joyce Bergh" Memorial Fund. See the Synod website for further details: www.albertasynod.ca
